The Salvation Army Foster Care & Adoption Program is proud to offer The HALO Project to support children in foster care and kids who have been adopted and exhibit difficulty with attachment. Recognizing the unique needs of children who have experienced trauma, The HALO Project unites parents, counselors, psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, volunteers, and the medical community in a powerful 10-week intensive outpatient treatment that addresses behavioral challenges and helps families connect and thrive.
Our specially trained team of TBRI® practitioners and clinicians will work closely with you and your child to address your individual needs. Our class sizes are small, enabling us to provide your family with personalized, compassionate care.
We are currently accepting applications for the following HALO sessions:
Ages 3y-7y:
January 8 – March 18, 2024 (break week February 12th) at Life Church in Macungie
Ages 3-7:
March 25 – June 10, 2024 (break weeks April 29th & May 27th) at Emmanuel Lutheran in Souderton
Ages 8y-12y:
September 16 – December 2, 2024 (break weeks October 14th & November 25th) at Life Church in Macungie
Teen HALO:
September 16 – November 11, 2024 (break week October 14th) at Emmanuel Lutheran in Souderton
New HALO Teen Programs
We offer two programs to address the specific needs of children ages 13-18 who have experienced trauma.
Our Making Sense of Your Worth program includes 8 weeks of small group sessions between teens and a TBRI® trained clinician, helping teens process their past in a supportive, safe group environment.
Our HALO Project for Teens 10-week program is an more intensive option and provides teen group sessions as well as individual family therapy sessions and Trauma Education Classes for parents, plus booster sessions.
Both of these programs are focused on helping teens make sense of their past and build their sense of self-worth. Through the process, the therapist and family work to show each child that they are worthy of being loved and that they can heal from their past.
